DELIGHTFUL DROP IN MEMORIAL ATTENDANCES: 2011 VERSUS 2014!
by steve2 inthe us kingdom ministry shows the collective total 2014 memorial attendances of the countries that now comprise the us territory in 2014: 2,610,810.. those countries are: the usa, bermuda, jamaica, turks and caicos and puerto rico.. the same collective total for those same countries three years ago - 2011 - was 2,666,592.. that's a decrease of 55,782 from 2011 to 2014. i am happified.. while there has been the occasional year in which memorial attendances from one year to the next have shown decrease, this is a first: decline evident over a three-year period.. comments please!.

Witnesses don't believe in "grace." It is a foreign concept to them. It is not Undeserved Kindness as the ORG describes it. So, I don't really know how to address your question.

The Governing Body Need To Get Their Head Out From In Between Their Derrière And Start Reading What Apostate Sites Are Actually Saying
by frankiespeakin init does no good for the governing body to burry their heads up their ass in denial as to what people who have left are saying about them and their insane selfserving teachings.
i know denial is a real bitch to deal with and i'm sure this bunch of over the hill gang will have a hard time doing google searches and they are probably not sure where to look but they oughta get some one to show them how to find all this information, this willful ignorance is really hurting them, and reality can come crashing in more horrible ways the longer the denial exist and is hiding valuable information you really need before you proceed to make better decisions for your company and the direction you want it to go..

Separation of Powers
I understand your point, but what motivation do you think they would have to pay attention to anyone else's opinion. THEY are the channel, God's channel. They are the analog signal in a world where everyone else has gone digital. They have the rabbit ears when everyone else is hooked to cable. They live the life of the silent screen star who says, "Talkies will never last!" They live in a glorious, remarkable, make-believe world where their opinions are the only ones that matter and people laud them for it. Why on earth would they ever change? They don't care if they lose people. There will always be someone susceptible enough to the propaganda that there will always be money pouring in the coffers. If THAT were to ever change, then they might listen to someone else, mainly their accountants.

Separation of Powers
Do not know...to me, at this point in my life, it really doesn't matter. I have learned the wisdom of the Marcus Aurelius quote:
"Live a virtuous life, if there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but they are unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones."
Just about sums it up for me.

Separation of Powers
Don't think it was a video on youtube....I have seen a video from the Gilead graduation where he and Knorr both publicly denounced the idea prior to its enactment. I think it was a link on Dogpatch's webpage...Freeminds....If the video is no longer accessible, look for the audio...it is just as damning. SOP

God is love, but if you dont love him back he will slaughter you!
by BU2B inthis was one of the things that first got me thinking.
i noticed how in books like "draw close to jehovah" they paint god as a loving, warm, just god who does not desire any to die.
i could not love him at all, let alone with my whole heart.

@ FlyingHighNow
It is true that you don't have to go from faith to no faith, many on here hold on to some vestige of faith. Some simply transfer their faith. The caption that the original poster chose, "Just what am I supposed to believe in now?" is strikingly similar to my own experience. When you are programmed to believe that you have the one and only "Truth" and that everyone, I mean EVERYONE else is wrong and for that will die, then it is a tremendously painful ordeal. Some, even on this forum, were not totally and completely vested in the whole Watchtower thing, sure, they went to meetings and to service, but they may have been half-hearted at their full-effort. Others, like I am assuming the poster to be, fell hook, line, and sinker, so for them, faith to no faith is painful.
By the way, I really do appreciate your comments. I find them very insightful and poignant. And the name....GO ROCKY!

Separation of Powers
PurrPurr,
To go from faith to no faith is painful. It is like recognizing the hypocrisy of your parents for the first time...devastating.
There are many on this forum that have simply repositioned their faith. For some, that is a viable option. Some people need to "believe" in something. Others, like the humanists on the forum, recognize the importance of living a good life, a good virtuous life, without the constraints of organized religion or some creed to hold onto.
I, like you, was lost. The realization that it was all a sham led me down a very depressing pathway toward self-destruction. Fortunately, I recognized what was happening before I made any irreversible moves or actions. When I did, I came to realize that I didn't need faith, I needed answers. I didn't want religion. I didn't want god or gods. I simply wanted to address the reality of this life.
So, I started searching for answers. I read Hassan's books to determine my programming and combat it. I read Franz' books to justify my realization that it was all malarkey. I read books on philosophy. Books on religion. Books on psychology. Just books.
I came across a book by an author, Stephen Bachelor, entitled Buddhism without Beliefs. It intrigued me. It answered the most important question I had..."Why do we suffer?" It just made sense. By the end of the book, I had come to the realization that the difficulties that we all encounter have plagued mankind since the dawn of time and that no magical "paradise" or "eternal life" was the answer. Those hopes did not address the "now," they served as a bandaid for the open wound that is suffering. When I came to the realization that life is suffering and the kind of life that would help mitigate that suffering, it was an epiphany beyond description. I did not, however, become a Buddhist. I simply began to view life in a different way. It has helped tremendously with the void. It has been both therapeutic and transformative.
Good luck on your journey.

My wife sees the lack of love and.. Any suggestions on how to proceed?
by BU2B inin the past few weeks, my wife has been seeing more and more the lack of love and caring from jws.
for example, she is organizing a "princess party" for our 4 year old daughter.
a couple of the parents have expressed reservations about this since they think princesses may be "too magical" even though we know they have been to disneyworld, and watch the disney channel.

Separation of Powers
If your daughter goes to preschool or kinder ask her if there are any classmates that she would like to invite...meet the parents of those children and see just how much support you will have from regular, ordinary, non-fanatical people. That will have an everlasting impact on your wife especially cause "worldly" people are all selfish, lying, abusive drunkards that let their kids do absolutely anything that they want! LOL
